Milna - island Brac

Tourist destination info Milna - island Brac

Milna is a town located in a wide bay on the western part of island Brač and 18km away from Supetar. The town developed around the Cerinić family residence. The main activities for  locals are fishing, seafaring and tourism. The center of the town has a large marina with many berths and modern equipment. The town itself has many restaurants but not a single night club or bar. Milna has four large pebble beaches (Pasikova, Lučice, Maslinova, Osibova), two of which are in town and the other two in the near vicinity. There are pine woods located near the beaches themselves, providing the perfect shade for those who do  not intend to sunbathe the whole day. The sea is crystal clear and the beaches face South, protecting them from north winds and making this region perfect for scuba diving, sailing and fishing. Apart from water sports, visitors can also enjoy soccer, volleyball, basketball, bocce ball and table tennis. Milna hosts several summer festivities, of which the best known is “Fisherman’s Evening” (a traditional summer event where you can taste some traditional recipes and enjoy the performances of local choirs). You can enjoy traditional Dalmatian cooking and other specialties of the region in several restaurants, of which we recommend “Amfora”, “Fontana”, “Fortuna” and “Gajeta”. Milna is an oasis of peace and quiet, making it the perfect destination for a vacation away from the hustle of the city. While in this beautiful town, do not miss the opportunity to visit Split, Trogir and Omiš, the nearby attractive tourist destinations.

Split is the second largest city in Croatia and one of the best known and most visited destinations on the Adriatic. This eternally young city lives with a slow rhythm which is easy to get used to. It is known for its historical monuments of which we recommend: Diocletian’s palace – the heart of the city, Iron Gate, statue of Gregory of Nin, St. Duje cathedral, church of St. Francis, St. Peter’s cathedral, main court, St. Anne’s monastery and city basement.

Trogir is a city located in the center of Dalmatia. Its port is a favorite destination for seafarers because of its good position and natural protection. This city is also often called the “museum city” because of its numerous cultural monuments. Some of those monuments are the following: old city center, Kamerlengo fortress, St. Mark’s tower, sculpture of the Blessed John of Orsinij, St. Jeronimo’s chapel, Ćipiko palace, renaissance church of St. John the Baptist, portal of Radovan, city museum , pinotheca and many others.

Omiš is a Mediterranean town located at the mouth of the Cetina river. If you wish to learn about its history,  you can visit its numerous historical monuments. See the Mirabela and Fortica fortresses, the parish church of St. Michael, Franciscan monastery, church of St. Peter, church of the Holy Spirit, church of St. Rocco, church of St. Mary, Illyrian seminary, old city cemetery, medieval city center, pole of shame and the old city lodge. Sports and recreation lovers can enjoy rafting on the Cetina river, free climbing, windsurfing, swimming marathon or beach volleyball.

This destination is perfect for families and people who would like to relax.
There were no good beaches and the hills of Milna are crazy. And we didn''t like that on the adriagate homepage it said there would be a disco not far from the accomondation, we talked to the people who lives in the city, and there were NO discos at ALL in city. We had to take us to Supetar for some fun.
