Icici is a small coastal town, situated on the most beautiful part of Kvarner, where the slopes of Ucka reach the sea. The town is only 5km distant from the oldest tourist attraction – Opatija, and 15km from the transit port of Rijeka which is an important tourist destination, as well. Because of its location, this little town quickly evolved into a real tourist destination with a rich offer. One of the main attractions is the beach Icici, after which the town was named. Icici
Icici is the perfect gateway to exploring the area of Kvarner. In my opinion it is the nicest village on that stretch of coast (with the exception of Volosko which is just north of Opatjia). It is has a perfect blend of activities for the old or young. The seafront has a child friendly play area and the mountain range Ucka is worth the climb to see the breathtaking views over the bay and the Italian Alps. Cres Island is also easily reachable from Icici for a day trip. I must urge that you make the effort to visit as the island is stunning and Cres Town is surprisingly not overrun by a throng of tourists (yet)! All in all we fell in love with the area and the people; top destination.
