Vinisce

Tourist destination info Vinisce

Vinisce is a small fishing place, situated only 12km from Trogir, in a beautiful cove with crystal clear water. Vinisce is first mentioned in the documents of the Trogir Chapter in 1272, but the precise time of the foundation is not familiar. According to the Illyrian buildings and the remains of the roman buildings, it was inhabited even long before. You can visit historical sites in Vinisce, such as the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary (located in Orihovica, founded by the Benedictine monks in 1272, surrounded by an old cemetery with epitaphs), the Church of St. Antun of Padua (built in the 18th century), St. John church (located on the point Ploca, built in 1332, according to a legend – on the place where the blessed Ivan of Trogir saved the citizens of Sibenik whose ship sank) as well as the parish church of the Heart of Jesus (which holds the image of an unknown author from the 19th century). The place is famous for its small coves which contains beautiful pebble and sandy beaches, the most famous of which are Voluja, Ricevo, Vrelo, Stari Trogir and Sicenica. During summer, Vinisce organizes countless festivities which offer homemade specialties, wine and pleasant music in the evening hours. Sports and active vacation fans can enjoy football, basketball, sailing, jet-ski and numerous other activities.

Be sure to visit

Trogir, or as many call it – “museum town” is located in the center of Dalmatia. Its harbor is a favorite destination for boaters because of good position and natural protection. The town is famous for its numerous historical monuments, some of which are: old town core, fort Kamerlengo, St. Marko fortress, sculpture of the Blessed Ivan Orsini, St. Jeronim chappel, Cipico palace, renaissance church of St. John the Baptist, the portal of Radovan, museum...

Rogoznica is a small port-town in the eponymous cove.  It is located on a peninsula which divides the cove into two parts, the eastern and the western part. Rogoznica is adorned with two valuable cultural and historical monuments: medieval church of St. Nikola and the medieval church of Blessed Ivan of Trogir.

Primošten is an island town, surrounded by seven smaller islands. It is a typical Mediterranean town which is best seen in its small streets and small stone houses in the center of the old town. It is home to two beautiful small churches: the church of St. George, built in 1485, and the church of St. Rocco, built in 1680. Those who enjoy sports may take part in playing tennis, table tennis, parasailing, jet-ski riding, beach volleyball, mini golf and many other activities.

Split is one of the best known and most visited tourist destinations in Croatia and the second largest city in the country.  It is an eternally young city which lives with a slow pace that is very easy to get accustomed to. This city is rich in historical monuments of which we recommend the following: Diocletian’s palace (the heart of the city), the Iron Gate, the statue of bishop Gregory of Nin, the cathedral of St. Duje, church of St. Francis, cathedral of St. Peter, the main court, city basement, St. Anne’s monastery and many others.

Scenery & the quiet. The apartment was OK. With lovely view. A gorgeous location. Owner served coffee one day which was nice.
House too far off paved road & harsh driving conditions. Hard to find. Only one restaurant open that was affordable. Owner did not know any place we could get food or info about buying groceries. He lived out of the area. Beds not very comfortable. If we had an apartment closer to village on better road would go again.
