Bol - island Brac

Tourist destination info Bol - island Brac

Bol is the oldest town on the shore of Brac. It is located in the central part of the southern side of the island, beneath the Bolska kruna and Vidova gora (the highest point of the island). Bol used to be the town of winegrowers, fishermen and seamen, while today it is distinctly a tourist destination. The town is first mentioned in the 12th century and the first inhabitants were Illyrians.  Bol holds numerous historical monuments worth visiting. See the beauties of the Dominican convent from the 1475 which contains a rich archeological collection, baroque summer residence, renaissance baroque palace within which there is an art gallery, parish churches and the convent in the Blaca desert. The town stretches for a few kilometers along the shoreline and is known for the crystal clear water and numerous beautiful beaches, the most popular of which is “Zlatni rat”. It is one of the most beautiful and biggest natural attractions on the Adriatic. It is said that it is the only one in the world which was formed in a way that spreads vertically towards the coast. It stretches for a half a kilometer into the sea clarity. Bathing here is a true experience. The coastal area which is overgrown in dense pine tree forest creates a special atmosphere. Sports and active vacation enthusiasts can enjoy tennis, windsurfing, swimming, jet-ski, parachuting, diving, handball, basketball, cycling, table tennis, beach volleyball and many other activities. You can savor the specialties of the island of Brac, as well as the Dalmatian cuisine in numerous restaurants and taverns. Visit the restaurants “Gust”, “Zlatni rat”, “Skalinada”, as well as the taverns “Vallum”, “Bretanide” and “Mali Raj” and enjoy their specialties.

Hvar is an ancient city with a rich history and the greatest number of sunny days. It faces the sunny South side of the world on the island of the same name. Its name comes from the Greek name for Hvar, “Pharos.” In the city you can view various historical monuments of which we recommend the Fortica fortress, the Hvar cathedral, city theatre and the Franciscan monastery. This city is the center of the island’s tourism and it is one of the most preferred and most visited destinations on the entire Adriatic. Its most attractive characteristics are a warm, sunny climate, various accommodation offerings, sports and recreation, natural beauty, good culinary offer and an active night life.

Split is one of the best known and most visited tourist destinations on the Adriatic and the second largest city in the country.  It is an eternally young city which lives with a slow pace that is very easy to get accustomed to. This city is rich in historical monuments of which we recommend the following: Diocletian’s palace (the heart of the city), the Iron Gate, the statue of bishop Gregory of Nin, the cathedral of St. Duje, church of St. Francis, cathedral of St. Peter, the main court, city basement, St. Anne’s monastery and many others.

Trogir is located in the center of Dalmatia. Its port is preferred by seafarers because of its favorable location and natural protection. It is often named the “museum city” because it is full of historical monuments such as the old city center, Kamerlengo fortress, tower of St. Mark, sculpture of the Blessed John Orsinij, chapel of St. Jeronimo, Ćipiko palace, Renaissance church of St. John the Baptist, portal of Radovan, museum and wine cellar, as well as numerous other historical sites located in this town.
